Motorbike Brake Caliper Services:

We offer two levels of motorbike brake caliper service in our specialist workshop, both of which are are detailed below. Please note, this table shows price per caliper and labour costs only – Parts are in addition.

Brake Caliper Mechanical Rebuild Service

With this service, your brake caliper will be fully disassembled, and we’ll remove any corrosion from the seal grooves. After this, the piston and casings are cleaned in our parts washers. Once cleaned, the casing and piston(s) are checked for damage. If we find any damage, we will email you photos so you can make informed decisions.

We always rebuild brake calipers with a new Brakemasters™ seal kit. Stainless pistons are also available if replacements are needed.

The brake calipers are reassembled by one of our specialists. Once rebuilt, we perform a pressure and function test on them to ensure they leave us in perfect working order.

This service gives you absolute peace of mind that your brake caliper has been rebuilt by a specialist using top-quality Brakemasters™ components.

Full Refurbishment Service

This service includes everything in the Mechanical Rebuild Service, but with additional steps. Once the brake calipers are disassembled and cleaned, we media strip the casings, re-coat them (colour chart below), and oven bake them.

With both the ‘Mechanical Rebuild’ and the ‘Full Refurbishment,’ your motorcycle brake calipers will come back to you in perfect working order. The only difference between the services is the cosmetic finish.

Services from Outside the UK

If you’d like to send your brake caliper to us from outside the UK, that’s no problem at all. We receive hundreds of calipers from abroad each year. for more information, but here are some details about how it works:

When sending the calipers to us, mark “Temporary export for refurbishment” on the customs slip. For the value, put a realistic low amount. Be aware that although they may be valuable to you and your project, to a customs office, they’re just old brake calipers that don’t work properly.

Once we’ve finished the work, we will contact you for payment. As you are outside of the UK, you will not pay any UK VAT. In effect, you get our services for 20% less. When we post the calipers back to you, your country’s customs office may ask you to pay your local VAT rate. You have to pay VAT on the goods; everyone in the UK pays VAT to the UK government, and when re-importing, you have to pay VAT to your own government.

Sending calipers from abroad may seem daunting, but it’s very easy. We handle customs regularly, so there’s nothing to worry about.
