Description

Motorcycle Brake Caliper Rebuild Service | 6 Piston – Labour Only (Per Caliper)

Our motorcycle brake caliper rebuild service is designed to return tired, seized or inconsistent 6 piston brake calipers back to full mechanical health.

This is a send-in service. Brake calipers must be removed from the motorcycle and sent to our workshop for rebuilding.

We cover most Nissin, Tokico, Brembo, Sumitomo, Yamaha and Honda branded calipers.
We don’t currently cover AJP, Grimeca, Harley-Davidson, Akebono, Lockheed, Girling and some other less common setups. If you’re unsure, just drop us a message.

Each caliper is rebuilt in our specialist brake workshop by experienced technicians using proven processes and Brakemasters™ components. This service focuses on restoring safe, reliable braking performance. Cosmetic refinishing can be added above as an optional extra.

What the rebuild includes

  • Full disassembly of the brake caliper (for multiple calipers update order quantity. See here for 1/2 piston calipers or 3/4 piston calipers).

  • Solvent cleaning followed by ultrasonic cleaning

  • Corrosion removal from seal grooves

  • Inspection of the caliper body and all piston bores

  • Reassembly – Parts are in addition

  • Pressure and function testing before return

Once rebuilt, your brake caliper will be mechanically as good as new, providing consistent braking performance and long-term peace of mind.

Parts and inspection

This product covers workshop labour only.
Brakemasters™ seal kits are charged separately.

If we find any issues with brake pistons such as corrosion or pitting, we will take close-up photos and email them to you so you can decide how you would like to proceed. Stainless steel replacement pistons are available if required.

Optional media strip and recoat

Selecting media strip and recoat upgrades this service to a full refurbishment process.

This includes stripping the caliper casings, recoating and oven baking before final reassembly and testing. Because of the additional processes involved, choosing this option increases the turnaround time.

For media strip and recoat options, see our available colour choices here.

Turnaround time

Rebuild only is typically 4 to 5 working days, excluding transit time.
Rebuild with media strip and recoat is typically up to 10 working days, excluding transit time.

Preparation and quantity

Labour price is per caliper.
Select quantity 2 if you are sending a pair of calipers.

Where possible, please remove brake pads before sending your calipers. Pads add unnecessary weight and bulk.

Pins, springs and other small fittings should also be removed where possible. Any additional fittings sent in with the calipers will be returned in the same condition they arrive in. Cleaning and refurbishing small fittings is not included in the labour charge for this service.

This service requires the brake caliper to be removed from the motorcycle before booking.

If you are unsure what to remove, feel free to get in touch before sending anything in.
