Vapour blasting is a process which cleans metal surfaces to a nearly new surface standard. When vapour blasting we use water, glass media and compressed air to achieve the highest standard of surface finish. The glass bead cleans the surface, the water absorbs the impact of the glass bead (leaving a ‘soft’ finish which does not damage the metal) and the compressed air accelerates the process.

What Can We Vapour Blast?

Vapour blasting does not harm gasket surfaces or threads. The process is suitable for; aluminium, steel, stainless steel, brass, titanium, copper and magnesium. The overall finish of a part depends on the condition of the surface getting blasted.

How Should I Prepare My Components for Vapour Blasting?

Your components must be fully de-greased before they get sent in. (We can provide a preparation service, but this will be charged at our standard workshop rate of £65 / hour).

For components covered in paint we offer a ‘media stripping’ service also. The media stripping (Or Sand Blasting) is much more ‘harsh’ than the vapour blaster. On components which are looking particularly tired we can offer to media strip these before vapour blasting them. It leaves a better surface finish, and saves time, which saves you money!

Sounds Good So Far - How Much Does It Cost?

Our Vapour Blaster runs at £65 per hour. Some customers come to us with a budget in mind, and ask us to vapour blast for a given time frame.  Others come to us wanting a concourse restoration finish on their engine casings.
