The supercharged 3.0 V6 is a great engine, a flexible and more fuel efficient replacement for the normally-aspirated 5.0 unit. Like its larger 5.0 brother it is charged by a screw type TVS supercharger rather than the roots type used on the earlier 4.0 and 4.2 cars.  Roots blowers are very efficient at midrange, but lose out at higher rpm when they drop efficiency and generate intake charge heat.  Therefore, the TVS types respond better across the whole rev range to redline than the M112 blower on earlier 4.0 and 4.2 litre cars.
The 3.0 engine already uses as standard a slightly smaller pulley than the 5.0 models, so when some other Jaguar specialists offer an upgrade pulley for these cars, it is their 5.0 upgrade stock item which works well on 5.0 applications but only increases driven speed on the 3.0 engine by a couple of percent. Our upgrade pulley has been developed specifically for the 3.0 litre application and gives a full 6% overdrive, which gives typically 20-25hp rise and sharper throttle response, though with remapping these pulleys can yield over 40bhp.  Machined from high grade stainless steel, our 3.0 upgrade pulleys are available in our online shop.
