Description

Suzuki GSXR400 RL 1990 front brake pads GK76A SBS 624HS. (Please contact us if you are unsure about your exact bike year and sub-model).

This listing is for a pair of pads to fit both the front brake calipers on the Suzuki GSXR400 RL 1990. These SBS brake pads give superb braking from cold and are near impossible to fade.

The team at Powerhouse used to favour EBC pads however, we feel that the SBS compound gives better braking, less rotor wear, and more mileage per set. They really are superb!

These are the SBS 624HS pads. The HS is for Hard Sinter. Don’t worry though, the disc rotor wear is minimal.

What’s included in this sale?

  • 2x SBS 624HS pad sets (which will fit both front calipers).

A few tips from the experts on changing your Suzuki GSXR400 RL 1990 brake pads:

When changing your pads it’s the perfect time to check the function of your brake calipers. We suggest following the steps below to make sure your brakes are safe and working properly. We suggest the below be done one caliper at a time:

  • Remove the pads with the caliper still on the bike.
  • Place cardboard either side of your disc.
  • Pump your pistons out to meet the cardboard/disc. You will always find some pistons move easier than others, but all the pistons should move freely.
  • Clean around your pistons with soapy water and a soft brush. Don’t use brake cleaner – it will perish the seals!
  • Push the pistons back in. This should only require thumb pressure. If more than this is needed e.g. a G-clamp, your calipers are in need of a rebuild. (You may need to remove the caliper from the disc to do this then replace the caliper).
  • Brush a very light smear of copper grease on the back of the pads.
  • Place the pads in the caliper ensuring you refit the pad pin & spring correctly.
  • Once the pads are in – Don’t forget to pump your lever until your pads meet the disc!
