A British Muscle Car Like No Other
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage V550 wasn’t a subtle car. When it launched in the mid-1990s, it made headlines for one reason… power! With twin Eaton superchargers feeding a hand-built 5.3-litre V8, it produced around 550 bhp and could reach 186 mph. That made it faster than a Ferrari F512M and a Porsche 911 Turbo of the same era.
A few years later came the Aston Martin V600 – the ultimate evolution. Using revised supercharger pulleys, Aston’s engineers extracted 600 bhp. The result was one of Britain’s most powerful cars of the decade – a true grand-touring brute.
Today, the V550 and V600 are rare collector’s cars, but time has taken its toll on their components – especially the supercharger pulleys.

Why These Pulleys Matter
Every Aston Martin V550 and V600 uses a pair of Eaton M90 superchargers, each driven by a separate pulley. Over the decades, those original mild-steel pulleys have often suffered from corrosion, wear, and pitting.
Replacing them isn’t just about looks – it’s about restoring proper supercharger performance and protecting these valuable engines. That’s why Powerhouse (UK) developed a precision-engineered reproduction pulley set, built to original dimensions but with modern materials.
We’ve been designing & manufacturing pulleys for other Eaton superchargers for over 10 years.

Precision-Engineered for the V550 and V600
Each pulley in our Aston Martin V600 set is CNC-machined from 316 stainless steel, offering complete resistance to rust and corrosion. To keep things authentic, we’ve used an OEM-spec e-coat finish that perfectly replicates the factory look. The Powerhouse logo is not visible when the pulleys are fitted, keeping under the bonnet looking standard.
Every critical detail matches the originals:
-
Correct multi-rib groove profile for the Eaton belt drive
-
Accurate bore and keyway tolerances for reliable fitment
-
Smooth OEM-style finish that maintains factory authenticity
These are not generic parts – they’re engineered with the same precision we use in our supercharger rebuilds.
Converting a V550 to V600 Specification
The difference between the Aston Martin V550 and V600 came largely from the supercharger pulleys. By fitting these new pulleys, a V550’s superchargers spin faster, delivering boost levels equivalent to the V600.
This conversion provides:
-
A noticeable increase in torque and throttle response
-
Improved top-end power
-
The authentic V600 driving character
It’s a subtle modification with a real-world performance gain.
(Note: V550 installations require snout modification for proper pulley fitment.)
Restoring Originality – and Performance
For V600 owners, this pulley set is the perfect restoration part. The stainless construction prevents future corrosion, and the OE-correct finish keeps the car’s under-bonnet appearance factory-fresh.
Whether you’re restoring a show car or running a driver’s car, these pulleys bring both authenticity and durability.
